Why, hello to you!

Its only been a millennia since I last posted. Hmm…so what’s new with me? Finally getting this dang website back in order. I miss the good ol’ blog days, so instead of creating a Substack or Patreon to share my writing, I thought I’d throw it back to the 2006 internet days. Welcome!

I’m entering year 18 of working in libraries!?! I am shocked. Shocked that I can’t retire. That’s a long fucking time to work a day job. 😉 Its a pretty okay day job I must say. It definitely has its ups and downs but overall, the last 18 years have taught me a lot. [I found it in a book!] Little 24 year old me had no idea what she was getting into when she joined the staff at the public library. But, boy, was it eye opening. One of the biggest discoveries and lessons learned from that job was that even when you try to advocate for yourself, your coworkers, your work environment, and send a burn-the-bridge exit interview, generally, folks don’t give a shit.

Haha, okay that was the sad and frustrating lesson I learned in that job. But it gave me the training and first hand toxic work environment know-how that I will carry with me forever.

My last decade in academic libraries has been a refreshing palate cleanser. Still deal with similar issues and egos but for the most part it was a much needed change.

After nine years in the job, I’m finally doing the damn thing! aka: getting a film degree, joined a creative cohort and maybe I’ll finally make a short film this year! Here’s hoping!
